The Encyclopedic Dictionary of Kosovo, the first encyclopaedic work published in Kosovo, was drafted by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo (ASHAK), with the participation of a number of associates of various fields of science and art. The publication of this Dictionary, in addition to meeting the needs for wide use by different readers, at the same time creates a database for Kosovo as a separate political, geographical, economic and cultural entity, but keeping in mind that Kosovo is part of a wider Albanian historical and cultural background and that divisions in this regard, whether temporary or durable, are always artificial and unnatural.
