This book contains works of the participants of the National Russian scientific conference “Educational Potential of the Pacific Russia in XVIII–XXI Centuries” (VIII Krushanov’s readings), that took place in Vladivostok in June 2016. The main focus of the conference was a discussion of less studied topics and current key issues of the history of education in the Pacific region of Russia, including regional specifics of the educational base in the Far East and nearby regions at different historic stages, definition of the role and meaning of the government in the development of the regional educational potential in the context of modernization processes in Russia in XVII–XXI centuries. Along with the characterization of a series of complex and debatable topics, the authors introduce new knowledge and extensive factual material on the history of the Russian Far East and several nearby countries of Asia-Pacific.
