The book presents theoretical concepts concerning peculiarities of border regions and methodological approaches to studying the role of border regions in economic integration, approved on case of Russia and China. Agglomeration effects in border regions as a result of international integration have been assessed by means of economic-geographic approach. Development of informal integration mechanisms owing to centralization has been identified by means of economic-institutional approach.
