The collection includes three works by Benedikt Dybowski that are directly related to the time of his exile in Siberia as a participant in the second Polish uprising. The autobiography briefly and succinctly covers the main milestones of scientific activity in Eastern Siberia and the Far East. The second article demonstrates the results of the first reliable and accurate measurements of the depths of Lake Baikal using the "depth meter" created by Dybowskiy and Godlevskiy, as well as the water temperature in the lake. The third and main work in the collection is "Diary of Doctor Benedict Dybowski from 1862 to 1878", for the first time fully presented in Russian in translation from Polish. The diary was completed almost half a century after the exile and included three parts "Exile to Siberia", "Stay in Siberia and in hard labor", "In the settlement". All research and scientific work was carried out under the auspices of the East Siberian Department of the Imperial Geographical Society.
