The series "Duty and Honor" of the Zaharii Stoyanov Publishing House presents fiction and scholarly works about major figures of Bulgarian history, including rulers, statesmen, national heroes, educators and intellectual builders of the nation. This particular biography of the patriarch of Bulgarian literature Ivan Vazov (1850-1921) is quite special, because it was written by eminent Bulgarian writer, diplomat and historian Simeon Radev and covers the most important period in Vazov's life: from the pre-Liberation years through his stint in Eastern Rumelia to his experiences as an emigre, when he wrote the iconic novel "Under the Yoke".
