Taras Lutyi is a professor at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of NaUKMA and a senior researcher at the Department of Philosophical Anthropology of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy. He is interested in questions of philosophical anthropology, philosophy of culture, history of philosophy. Curator of the translation program of the classics of intellectual thought "Philosophy" (together with the "Mezhvukha" Foundation and the "Tempora" publishing house). He plays in the group "Four from Polonaise". Developer and teacher of several philosophical courses in the "Cultural Project".
Taras Luty's interest in philosophy became apparent during his studies at the Polytechnic Institute, where he entered after a mathematics class at one of Kyiv's schools. He was attracted to the literature of modernism, non-classical philosophy and alternative music. At the same time, the first musical experiments began. It was the attraction to the humanities and led to admission to Mohyla, where Taras studied first at the Department of Cultural Studies, and then philosophy. Around that time, the problem of twins arose, or more precisely when Taras began to study the phenomenon of nihilism.
Taras Luty decided to return to the topic of twins a few years ago, considering it now as a problem of identity. It is about the formation of a human personality, which can not do without its own transformation, the experience of the Other and the Stranger, the bifurcation and maintenance of the unity of one's self and many other aspects. Essays on the nature of duality, duplication and plurality were included in a new book entitled "Double. On the nature of duplication and multiplicity.
