The present document collection is compiled on the basis of an extremely high number of archive materials. It covers all the aspects of the Gypsies’ deportation to Transdniestria in the middle of the previous century and includes the most important documents on the topic. The author examines all major decisions adopted by various ministries on this population category and in general the policies of the Romanian state with respect to the Gypsies and illustrates the way in which the decisions were made.
