The edition marks the 500th anniversary of the frescos of the Cathedral of Nativity of the Virgin, the most ancient structure of the Ferapontov convent, which symbolize the heyday of the ancient Russian visual culture. The frescos, created by the crew of masters headed by the famous Moscow artist Dionisii, present the only entirely extant monumental ensemble of that time.
