The first scientific encyclopedia focused on poetry and prose, which captures an overview of the most significant literary works in the last literary-historical stage of Slovak literature. It contains 178 entries, prepared by three dozen experts. The comprehensive entries include bibliographical data, brief information about the authors, characteristics of the works, analysis and interpretation of their semantic and expressive aspects, and their place in the context of Slovak literature. The chronologically arranged entries alternate the history of literature and, for the first time, include the literature of Slovak enclaves in Vojvodina and abroad in a single whole. A concise example is selected for each work, which gives the dictionary the character of a literary anthology and conveys important real-life experience with the text.
