Wladyslaw Zapalowski (1839-1923), before the outbreak of the January Uprising, was a member of the underground civil organization of the Sandomierz Province. After the fall of Marian Langiewicz's dictatorship, he was appointed the auditor of the civil and military organization for the Krakow and Sandomierz provinces. On March 1, 1864, as a result of denunciation, he was arrested while performing his duties. He was imprisoned in Radom, then in the Warsaw Citadel, where he was sentenced to exile to Russia. He was sent to Komi. He returned to Poland after the amnesty in 1869.
