The First Republic of Czechoslovakia had existed for twenty years only and left interesting cultural and political legacy, which is being argued about till now. The interwar Check republic is presented in the book as an ideological project and its political history is viewed through the conflict of ideologies: ethnic nationalism and the idea of political nationalism and political nation idea, liberal humanism and totalitarian teachings.
