The work captures numerous findings and suggestions from the author's long-term teaching of foreign Bohemians in our country and around the world. A fresh look at Czech through the lens of a different, often diametrically different civilizational framework brings valuable insights and challenges that would hardly have occurred to a native speaker. The first section, Language and Nation, discusses the unresolved issue of the contours of our national language as well as other key and often overlooked topics (language and national character, features of Czech speech behavior).
