The monograph analyzes the actions of the winners of the First World War - Great Britain and France, as well as the losers - Germany and Bolshevik Russia - in the Baltic region in 1918-1920. The book reveals the interests of the great powers and their intersections, highlights the political and military means of implementing these interests and their impact on the nascent statehood of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Based on archival sources from Great Britain, Germany, France, Lithuania and Latvia, an overall picture of the political and military processes that took place in the Baltic region in 1918-1920 is constructed.
