The monograph is one of the first works in which the organization of appeal courts in the judicial system of the Russian Federation is comprehensively investigated. The article reflects the problems and regularities of legal regulation of the organizational and legal foundations of appeal courts, theoretical views on them, judicial statistics and materials of judicial practice. According to the results of the study, theoretical provisions aimed at the development of the judicial system, its appellate courts, as well as a set of scientifically based proposals to optimize judicial activity have been developed.
