The monograph studies creative heritage of the great Russian composer M.Moussorgsky. Apart from being classic of the Russian musical culture, Moussorgsky was a talented production director. The book has large theoretical (the main categories of composer's production, musical expressive means, the typology of techniques) and historical background (development of European and Russian theatre of the XIXth c., creative activity of the predecessors and the contemporaries in Russia and abroad). The study is based on the manuscript autographs of the composer's works in different genres.
