Several international textbooks and casebooks on arbitration are available to the arbitration practitioner and law student. However, no current authority or practical book on the subject, specific to Zimbabwean arbitration, exists. There is a clear gap in the literature on this subject, not only in Zimbabwe but in most of the SADC countries and Africa at large. The formation of the African Arbitration Association in 2018 and talks of establishing a SADC Commercial Arbitration Centre are among the many compelling reasons for African states to have access to their own bespoke literature on arbitration.
