The reader of this book has an opportunity to follow the history of the red-white-red flag of Cesis area of Latvia, mentioned in the XIIIth century Rhyme Chronicle, becoming an ideolodical prototype of the flag of Latvian people and Latvian State. Even though the Soviet occupation regime purposefully tried to eliminate the red-white-red flags and any information about them, a wide scope of evidence reached nowadays. However, this information and materials are scattered, often not easy to access, so in this book there is an attempt to sum it up. Actually the saved materials themselves indicate the special attitude of the nation towards its flag.
