Latgale, or Latgalia is one of the four cultural regions of Latvia. The region has a large population of ethnic Russians. The language or dialect is called Latgalian. The collection is compilled by Anatolijs Berzkalns (1923-2002), a worker of culture, linguist, sponsor of the Latvian libraries and culture centres spent the most of his life abroad.
