The edition is dedicated to the history of the Russian Orthodox Church from February to October, 1917 and contains different church documents – pastorals of the Sacred Governing Synod, sermons, appeals of the upper clergy to the congregation, resolutions of eparchial, vicariate, municipal congresses of Russian clergy and the laity, passed on March – July, 1917 all over the country, welcoming telegrams to new public agents and organizations. Texts of civil and church promises, “Message” to the Sacred Governing Synod about the appearance of the Icon of the Mother of God “Sovereign” and other listed documents express the clergy’s opinion on the overthrow of monarchy and establishment of the Provisional government.
