The new book by a well-known writer presents selected essays, talks and papers of the 1990s that examine different aspects of the global cultural crisis of the end of the century. The principal focus is on the culture of the present-day Ukrainian society which O.Zabuzhko sees as post-totalitarian, post-communist, post-colonial and, at the same time, post-tragic, i.e., having lost its capacity to experience reality as a tragedy.
