It was in this monograph that Stanislaus Alexandrovich proved that the edition of Radziwill's map of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1603 existed and was prepared in Nesvizh (unfortunately, it has not survived and is known only from the Amsterdam reprint of 1613). The scientist had to find irrefutable evidence to overcome the authority of another famous cartographic researcher Karol Buchak, who was clearly skeptical about the cartographic heritage of the GDL and the existence of a printed Niasvizh map of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in particular.
Today the work of Stanislav Alexandrovich is a classic in the history of Belarusian cartography, without it it is difficult to imagine an understanding of the subject in general.
In the edition about 312 with., From them 68 with. colored. Format 218x290 mm. A book in a frame.
The book has 6 sections:
• Lands of Lithuania and Belarus on ancient and medieval maps
• Lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania on the maps of Bernard Vapowski and his followers
• Radziwill's map of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania
• Lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania on the maps of 1650–1763
• The oldest border and property maps of the XVI and XVII centuries
• Beginnings of military cartography
At the end of the book are 56 color reproductions of rare maps and plans from the archives of Poland, Lithuania and Sweden. It is important to note the plans for the siege of Polotsk and the map of the Polotsk principality by Stanislau Pakhalovich in 1580, the map of the swamps of Polesie by Daniel Zwicker in 1650, the anonymous project of rebuilding the castle of Ula in 1568 (?), The plan of the siege of Lyakhovichi in 1660.
