This collection of Vaclav Havel's previously unpublished speeches and appearances is framed by his candidate article from the daily Mlada fronta of 19 January 1993 and concludes with his famous Rudolfina speech, which he delivered on 9 December 1997 at a joint session of both chambers of the Czech Parliament.
