The issue is compiled from the selected letters by Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomna Philaret (Drozdov 1782-1867) - a distinguished religious figure, preacher, pastor and prayer of the Russian Orthodox Church, who remained for more than half a century in charge of Moscow Cathedra. The correspondence between the arch-priest and his colleagues abounds in spiritual meditations. Some of the letters are made public for the first time. All the materials are arranged in an alphabetical order. The book is also provided with the subject index and rich illustrative iconographic material.
