In August 1992, a Georgian young man, Malkhaz, a student who was five minutes away, went home to Abkhazia to spend the last days with his family on the threshold of "adult" life in Tbilisi. However, the outbreak of war between Georgia and Abkhazia instantly makes the teenager a captive of their native places, tears them from their loved ones and forces them to take a survival test every day. Malkhaz and his three friends are together looking for a path to freedom and find themselves in extreme situations, when they, yesterday’s schoolchildren, can rely only on themselves. The life of the young Georgian generation of the 1990s was overshadowed by the war between Georgia and Abkhazia, when people who lived for many decades together turned into irreconcilable enemies. How long does it take to forget this? So the heroes of the novel ask themselves: does the war end with the last shot? The novel "Buried Vine" is based on real events.
