The book takes a look at the peculiarities of the Bulgarian education system in the period 1934 - 1939. It examines the views on the development of the native education of the right-wing authoritarian organizations and the "Zveno" political circle. The study expands the notions of the educational reforms carried out after the coup of May 19, 1934, and draws attention to the ideology of the "new state" in the educational field, which is based on the ideas of the so-called creative nationalism. The author of the monograph rejects the long-standing understanding that in the second half of the 1930s fascist, chauvinistic and racist ideas permeated Bulgarian education. An important part of the book takes up the presentation of the specific steps of the authoritarian state for the education of the "new citizens" in the school and extra-school environment. Attention has been paid to the brighter nationalist direction of education and upbringing of students in preparing them to be citizens with qualities and virtues corresponding to the non-party authoritarian regime's understanding of a strong nation-state.
