The book presents information about Bulgarian history from old sources. It aims to clarify many issues about Bulgarian history by eliminating politically motivated bias, solely on the basis of written records which have survived through the centuries, while ignoring "the opinions about the opinions" of commentators. An important feature of this book is that the events are dated on the basis of comparisons of data provided by old sources. This chronology allows readers to see connections between seemingly unrelated facts.
