Semen Budennyi (1883-1973) is a hero of the Civil war, commander of the legendary First horse army, one of the most popular soviet military leaders. He was cautious and clever enough not to be subject to Stalin repressions, and managed to impose the Red army his own methods regarding strengthening of the horse army to the detriment of motorized units. The Great Patriotic war proved those methods to be inefficient and put an end to commander’s career of Budennyi. The book is dedicated to a close study of biography of the well-known marshal.
