The thirteen chapters of the book reflect these relationships starting from ancient times to the present day, from the first naval and merchant contacts to the present-day cultural sports and economic relations. The authors of the articles are both Dutch and Latvian. This collection was published to honour the visit of the Queen of the Netherlands to Latvia in May, 2005.
