Lado Arveladze (1908-1975) is a participant of the WWII and an emigrant. He was captured in 1942 during the battle near Sevastopol. He was in prison camps in Ukraine, Poland and Germany, and then he got to Italy, in the Georgian battalion created by the Germans. After the end of the war, Lado Arveladze, who moved from Italy to live in the USA, is actively involved in the activities of the Georgian community there. He is a member of the board of the American Council for the Restoration of Independence of Georgia, and later - acting chairman. Lado Arveladze's diary has survived. He tells us about his own life path and at the same time expresses his opinions about historical processes, provides information about other emigrant Georgians, discusses the fate of Georgia. It discusses the Second World War and the years of post-war emigration as seen by the author.
