The author traces the life and creative path of the Belarusian opera singer Vyacheslav Antonovich Selyakh-Kachansky (1885-1976), premier baritone of the Mariinsky Imperial Opera, director of the first modern opera in the Belarusian language, founder of the Belarusian State Choir, director of BDT-1 ( Kupala Theater).
