The collection of publications by Russian journalists is a result of the program conducted by the Publicity Protection Fund in 1999. Twenty-two journalists were sent to Belarus in order to study political, economic, social and cultural life of the country and provide newspapers, journals, and TV programs with objective reports. Compiling all these materials in one book creates a multi-aspect view of Belarus, "the last stand of communism" among all newly independent states.
