The author of this book, Kresimir Dabo, aware of the paradoxical social situation in which folk art forms an inseparable part of the national identity and can be an interesting basis for building the national image of art, and at the same time does not have adequate media coverage, asked the question whether folk art can be better and more effectively promoted heritage and through communication channels to acquaint the Croatian public with the rich heritage that is dealt with by numerous cultural and artistic societies and heritage institutions.
In the book Behind and in front of the stage, the author presents the ideas of branding a national identity based on traditional heritage, as well as the ideas of creating and opening spaces for improving the strategic communication of institutions and organizations that collect, preserve and present performing traditional art through the use of social networks, new technologies and new approaches to construction and audience retention.
