The book presents sketches on Jewish history of the XXth century united under one theme of Holocaust. The content can be divided into five sections. The first part presents little known pages of anti-Fascist resistance in Spain, Italy, Algeria, and other countries. The second part is devoted to both the recognized and obscure righteous men, those who were rescuing Jewish people in the coarse of WWII. Sketches about Germans who ruin our ideas and stereotypes about people of the Third Reich are collected in the third part. The fourth part,“Hostages of the Second World War”, compiles the articles about the destinies of the Jews during the years of the Nazis' rule in Germany. In the fifth part the background and national peculiarities of anti-Semitism are traced.
