The author's neologism is characterized as one of the actual methods of replenishing the lexical composition of the Belarusian language, the reasons and conditions for the appearance of individual stylistic neologisms, the place and role of such words, their potential opportunities for consolidation and general literary codification are determined. The most significant original works of Belarusian linguists dedicated to occasional vocabulary are given, as well as a dictionary of author's neologisms from the texts of artistic and journalistic literature of the XX-XXI centuries.
