The monograph is devoted to the peculiarities of the functional and semantic category of modality in the process of translating Anglo-American works of art from English into Tatar. The first chapter gives a general description of the category of modality from the point of view of the English and Tatar languages, describes the historical chronology of the development of research on this category. The second chapter sheds light on the question of real, unreal and imperative modality.
