The first volume of the book project brings the full text of all published texts by Andrej Hlinka up to 1918, which represents 294 items representing Hlinka's public and journalistic activities in the Hungarian period of our history. Thanks to the consistent heuristic preparation of the editorial team, the book captures a number of hitherto little-known texts, for example those published in foreign-language newspapers and magazines. A short evaluative characteristic and explanatory notes are attached to each document. The project will continue by processing the subsequent period after 1938.
Andrej Hlinka (1864-1938) is one of the most significant figures in modern Slovak history. Therefore, the publication of a scientific critical source edition containing his speeches and articles will allow us to better and more precisely evaluate his place and significance in Slovak history, but also to realize his legacy for today.
