The joint publication of the Music Center and the Academy of Performing Arts brings a revised edition of one of the key works of Slovak musicology by Slovak composer, musicologist and music historian Ivan Hrusovsky. The book was written in the late 1950s and provides an in-depth look at the development of the phenomenon of harmony, from the polyphony formed in the music of natural peoples, through the polyphonic constructions of European music of the last millennium to compositional constructivism in various orientations of 20th century music.
