The author of the book is a well-known lawyer and specialist in international law A. K. Abashidze. His book is devoted both to the history and contemporary situation of Adzhariia, its historical struggle for independence, preserving their native language (Georgian) and culture. A special emphasis is given to the role of the authors family, headed by Memed-beg Abashidze, in the history of Adzhariia. Now their successor Aslan Abashidze is the chairman of Adzharia Supreme Soviet.
