This book is devoted to the troupe of gifted actors that played in the theater of Jelgava in the middle of the XXth century. Old Jelgava saw many prominent historical figures in its time. Famous count Maurice and legendary Casanova visited this glorious Latvian city. It became home to Adolfs Alunans who is considered to be the father of Latvian theater. Particular attention is paid to the activity of A. Alunans as the theater director from 1924 till 1944. The author of the book emphasizes his outstanding contribution to dramatic art of Latvia. The author narrates about remarkable premiers and sensational plays which were put on the stage of the theater and enraptured the audience due to bright performance of the actors.
