Rostovtsev Mikhail Ivanovich (1870-1952) is a Russian and American (in exile) historian of the ancient world, archaeologist, publicist. He is a specialist in the socio-economic history of Hellenism and Ancient Rome, as well as the ancient Black Sea region. The monograph examines Rostovtsev’s research contribution to the study of the Scythians, Sarmatians and their immediate neighbors.
