This publication examines the phenomenon of youth abstaining from religious education classes at school. It is based on qualitative research – 41 individual interviews conducted in 15 locations. It offers multifaceted insight into the motives, contexts, and consequences of young people's decisions to abstain from religious education classes, even though they identify themselves as religious.
