Estonian literary scholar, lecturer at the University of Tartu and politician Peeter Olesk (1953–2021) applied his erudition much more broadly than just as a philologist. Starting with philology, he established a solid foundation in as many areas as possible through constant self-improvement and work. Due to his good memory, historical thinking and extensive knowledge that allowed him to create unexpected connections, he was suitable as a universal advisor to those working in various fields, not only the humanities or culture.
