In an effort to develop effective tactics for fighting partisans, in the fall of 1941, the Wehrmacht began to form “hunting” or “fighter teams” (jagdkommando, zerstorungskommando) as part of military units. So, in an order dated November 25, 1941, for the 137th Infantry Division, operating in the Moscow direction, it was indicated the need to "keep ready a fighter team composed of specially selected people." Somewhat later, an instruction was approved, according to which experienced, fearless and well-trained soldiers and non-commissioned officers who were able to successfully operate in any situation should be selected for the “hunter” teams. It was recommended to appoint initiative officers familiar with the tactics of guerrilla warfare and fond of sport hunting to the positions of commanders. The story of the famous Belarusian writer Konstantin Nilov "Trap for Wild Hunters" tells about the events that took place in the first years of the Great Patriotic War in the occupied territory of Belarus. The war affected not only the adult population, but also teenagers who contributed to the defeat of the Nazi invaders. Then the Germans in the fight against partisans and Soviet reconnaissance and sabotage groups (RDGs) used the so-called Jagdkommandos. The actions described in the story unfolded in the Orsha and Shklov regions, where the partisan movement was aimed precisely at fighting the Jagdkommandos.
