The title is a guide-book to one of the Russian memorials Yasnaya Polyana, the museum of Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), “the great writer of the Russian land”. Going on a tour of the museum, the author takes the reader from park to park, from house to house telling with enthusiasm of the writer’s country estate. The author narrates about Tolstoy’s life and work, and describing in detail the beauty of the scenery, she makes realize that without the Yasnaya Polyana scenery Tolstoy would not have been Tolstoy.
