The problems of formation, development and genre transformations of a lyric book as an independent artistic structure are examined using pieces of Russian poetry of the last third of the XIXth century. The authors for the first time investigate the voluminous material of a unique ensemble of concluding lyric books by a number of writers of the mid-XIXth century.
