In the study of the origins and the expansion of neoliberalism, David Harvey investigates the activities of its founders, M.Thatcher and R.Reagan, and elucidates the role of the leaders of other states in distribution of this conception. According to the theorists of neoliberalism, everything in the world is subjected to the powers of the market. Experts insist on minimization of governmental participation in economics, privatization of state enterprises and transformation of the financial system. The author shows that such a practice results into reduction of social guarantees, reestablishment of class society, strengthening of authoritarianism and undermining of democratic processes.
