The publication examines a unique source on the history and genealogy of Tsaritsyn in the second half of the 17th - early 18th centuries: one of the first surviving censuses of the male population of the city, dated 1722. The text of this document, stored in the State Archive of the Astrakhan Region, has not been introduced into scientific circulation until now.
